Boy, Did I Get
A Wrong Number!
(1966)
|
Martha Meade ... The Divine D.D., a European
actress known more for her bubble bath scenes than for her acting, decides
she has had enough with bubblebaths and wants to be taken seriously as an
actress. So much so that she runs away during the middle of a scene while
filming in Hollywood and winds up in Oregon. While she is staying in a
hotel, the operator accidentally connects her with a real estate agent
named Tom Meade. She asks Tom to bring her some food and when he does he
suggests that she go to his cabin in the woods. She also asks him not to
tell anyone where she is because she doesn't want to go back to Hollywood.
Now Tom must keep the secret, especially from his wife and from his
suspicious housekeeper Millie. |

Valerie ... Rex Allen, star of the
Western Rodeo Circus, and his clown pal Slim Pickens, get involved in the
matrimonial plans of high-wire specialist Chip Wells and his treacherous
parter Valerie, through feeling sorry for Chip's motherless 8-year-old
daughter Taffy. Chip thinks Taffy is jealous of Valerie, but Taffy tells
Rex that she just thinks Valerie isn't the right woman for her father.
Valerie ... After protecting Valerie from Cooper, Chip discovers
that Valerie has diamonds worth a half-million dollars in her possession.
Chip hides the diamonds in Taffy's doll, until he can get an explanation
from Valerie. Knowing that Chip won't tolerate her diamond-smuggling
activities, Valerie distracts him at a critical point in their high-wire
performance and he falls to his death. To get possession of Chip's
personal belongings, knowing the diamonds are hidden there, she calls on
the shady "Judge" Sully for help. He writes a phony order making
Taffy a ward of his court and orders Chip's belongings to be held by the
court. Taffy runs away and finds refuge with Narita, a gypsy girl. |

Rebel City
(1953) |
Jane Dudley ... In 1846, northern Kansas was
being terrorized by soujtern sympathizers known as Copperheads, and
gambler Frank Graham goes to Junction City seeking the killer or killers
of his father. He gets little help from Union Army officers Colonel Barnes
or Captain Ramsey, but gets a job at the freight line co-owned by Jane
Dudley and his late father. Jane tells him his father was stabbed in a
quarrel over counterfeit money given to him for his freight interests.
Frank learns that Hardy, a printer; Temple, a store owner; Perry, a
peddler; Greely, a gambler, and Spain, a jeweler, are Copperheads and one
of them murdered his father. |

Cliff Roberts, masquerades as a prison guard and gets a job attached to
the chain gang. Using a tiny camera in the shape of a cigarette lighter,
he takes pictures of and documents the miserable conditions. The sadist
guard captain, Captain Duncan, learns about Cliff's activities and has him
beaten by the other guards. Roberts escapes to write his expose that
brings about some prison reforms. |

The Lost Volcano

Masked Raiders

Gale Trevett/Diablo Kid ... Texas Rangers
Tim Holt and Chito Rafferty are sent to Wilcox, Texas to investigate the
raids on Hoyt Corthell by a band of masked raiders led by the Diablo Kid.
Posing as cowhands, they are stopped and taken to the Trevitt Ranch where
they meet Gale Trevitt, her younger brother Artie and her Uncle Henry,
father of Trig, Matt and Luke, who have taken Tim and Chito captive. Tim
is wounded, during a holdup, by Doc Nichols as he is about to capture one
of the raiders, actually the Trevitt family led by Gale posing as the
Diablo Kid. Tim and Chito eventually learn that all of the local ranchers
are being victimized by Corthell, and that Gale and her family are just
taking back and returning what has been stolen by the Corthell gang,
working with the crooked town Marshal, Barlow. |
